I have always wondered what the piano pedals do. I knew the sustain pedal ( the right pedal), made the sound hold. The other pedals have always been a mystery, but today it makes sense. The sostenuto pedal ( miiddle pedal) only holds the sound for the bass notes or the chords. The una corda pedal ( the left pedal), shifts the keys and makes a soft sound. This research day has been useful for finding this information. It has been fun learning about something you don't know by looking at the piano.
